Courts continue to rule on mail-in voting in Pennsylvania
On Friday, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania vacated a case surrounding undated or misdated ballots. The majority ruled that the legal battle should involve all 67 boards of elections, not just Philadelphia and Allegheny counties. The Pennsylvania ALCU brought that case.
GOP asks Pa. Supreme Court to bar counties from letting voters fix mail-in ballot errors
The Republican Party is asking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to find it illegal for county boards of elections to alert voters to defective mail-in ballots and give them the chance to correct any errors.
Dauphin County will allow voters to correct mail-in ballot errors. Advocates hope more will follow.
Dauphin County’s elections board enacted what’s called “notice and cure” policy — basically, if someone incorrectly fills out a mail-in ballot, the county will return it to them and give the voter a chance to correct their error.
